CIB Securities Services Operations Trades - Fund Accounting - Vice President

J.P. Morgan s Securities Services Operations services clients across a global custody network spanning 100
markets, with custody and asset servicing, fund accounting and administration, agency lending, collateral
management and depositary receipt solutions.
The Fund Accounting team is responsible for timely and accurate delivery of NAV for Clients who have
outsourced their Fund Accounting services to JPM. This role requires deep understanding of Fund services
operations and activities such as Fund Accounting Trades, various asset classes, Fund structures with
exposure to global markets.

Role Description
We are looking for a highly skilled, motivated and experienced individual for Fund Accounting Trades
operations in Bengaluru for night shift operations. The candidate would be responsible for managing day
to day Trades operations involving complex asset classes and fund structures for accurate NAV delivery.
The candidate would also be responsible for seamless onboarding of new funds and compliance towards
control framework.
The successful candidate must have proven track record of having held leadership positions involving large
scale functions and experience in setting up new functions. She/he should have excellent analytical and
problem-solving skills, applied to both daily operations of the unit as well as partnering with senior
stakeholders to develop, implement, and manage strategic program throughout Fund Services operations.
The candidate will be working in the night shift (US Operations) and diversity candidate will be
preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Functional:
Managing Transaction processing related activities of Fund Services function in the most efficient
and highly control framework-oriented environment.
Review of daily / weekly / monthly performance metrics pertaining to the function and to identify
and track reasons for deviation from agreed levels or expected behavior. Ensure resolution of all
ageing / sensitive outstanding items by having close engagement with global and local
stakeholders/ internal departments.
Perform systemic verification for high value securities transactions, FX transactions and Payments
for Unit Trust trades following the Authority Level Matrix (USD thresholds set in the process).
End to End responsibility of team managing Fund Services Trade function and to be in control and
monitoring of Intra-day and End of Day reports/checks.
Managing all trade exceptions and handholding to closure with internal teams; be it client, market
or transaction type specific.
In-depth knowledge around cash and stock breaks between Custody and Accounting with ability
to resolve the same across all asset class such as TBA, MBS, Equity, Bonds, Repos, Collaterals etc.
Responsible for seamless onboarding of new funds and governance over standard operating
procedures and checklists
Communicate overall functional status, risks, issues, errors, milestone achievement and progress;
ensure delivery of the function is in line with firm s priorities
Periodic review of productivity benchmarks and adopting various tactical/strategic tools to
further enhance the benchmarks on an ongoing basis.
Proven experience in managing performance of his directs (managerial role) and his team. Able
to set SMART goals for team members, counseling team members, team building and staff
development.
Manage capacity and assignment of activities across the team and drive automation projects to
sustain efficiency and scalability
Experience in Fund Services Corporate Actions and Income function would be preferred.
Service Delivery & Client Focus:
Understanding client s requirements and deep understanding of market nuances to ensure
flawless delivery by adopting bespoke process requirements.

client experience
Functional responsibilities will require the candidate to work in a matrix operating model and
work in close partnership across sites in India, Philippines and across the globe
Operational Excellence & Innovation:
The candidate will be required to drive innovative solutions for efficient operations and prioritize
key technology enhancements
She/he will be responsible to identify project opportunities which will lead to significant business
impact leading to financial saves, best practice sharing, reduce both manual effort and risk
She/he will be required to efficiently manage expenses and facilitate ways to reduce them to
support business growth in cost effective manner
Active participation in multiple forums such as Product, Client Service, Strategy to analyze the
impact basis market changes and to drive Tech Initiatives to meet client expectation and internal
functional goals.
Operating Model:
Drive strong focus on building strong synergies across verticals
Design optimal operating model across functions as business continues to evolve
Ensure strong management coverage and oversight on resiliency, management bandwidth with
right span of control
Partnership & Governance:
Stakeholder management effective communication and partnership to address any issues
related to new fund conversions for seamless onboarding
Considering the candidate will work in a matrix organization, partnership with various sites across
the globe and business contacts is key to success
Responsible to manage new incoming migrations
Institute a strong governance framework locally in the region and metrics which are consistent
with the globe to ensure strong focus on quality, delivery and enhancing client experience
Collaborate with cross functional teams i.e. Fund Accounting, Reconciliation, Technology, Product
and F&BM to identify and resolve key business risks/issues
Risk & Control:
Play a key role in Audit reviews and contribute effectively in global / local meetings/calls with
Product, Network, Client Facing team, etc. and represent Fund Services Trades function to add
value in ensuring end goal to enhance customer satisfaction at all times of course ensuring right
controls and checks in place to avoid Audit & Compliance issues.
Create strong resiliency & backups within the team by active involvement in day to day activities
and training initiatives.
Periodic review and certification of operational procedures, control activities / documents such
as RCSA, Business resiliency plans, operations service agreement and allied documents and
procedures
Work closely with business partners and Controls Managers in driving/ implementing an effective,
robust proactive and sustainable controls program to proactively manage risks to the business
Experience, Qualification & Skill Set
~12-18 years of Mutual/Pension/Hedge Fund accounting Trades experience
Minimum 10 years of experience in managing US/UK/Canada/Lux domiciled funds.
MBA Finance/CA/ICWA preferred
Strong business knowledge on FS products, processes and system knowledge.
Excellent attention to detail, and an ability to know when a deep dive approach is appropriate
Ability to drive results through a hands on approach
Skilled in identifying talent, recruiting, coaching, mentoring and developing team members
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and adept to communicate with all levels of
the business and technical parts of the organization
Can operate in a dynamic environment with tight deadlines and can prioritize one s own and
teams work to achieve them.
Ability to partner with demanding stakeholders, managing their expectations while developing
strong working relationships with them
Understanding of operational risks and related controls, audit and internal control framework
Confidence to challenge, and be challenged, whilst remaining a positive can-do outlook
