Purpose of the job


The Warranty Engineer is responsible for reviewing and analysing customer warranties, prepare commissioning & DLP spare requirement and supplier charge back for failure mode and responsibility, well communicate between stakeholders, Engineering, Supplier, Contractor, client and project team. Process claims for payment and communicate data trends to the 801B project team for continual improvement. Supports the PI Manager in Customer Site Management in all Product Introduction-related matters toward the Operations & Maintenance part of the Customer organization.


Key responsibilities:



  • To ensure the compliancy of HSE within the Project and onsite activity, communicate and work closely with the project of HSE team representatives.

  • To plan adequate parts for maintaining the retrofitted fleet vehicle before final handover to the customer.

  • Analyse customer warranty for responsibility, reason, cost, and resolution.

  • Analyse supplier charge back on responsibility, reason, cost, and resolution.

  • To perform failure analysis and to upkeep the record for all failure mode analysis.

  • Require to closely monitoring the MTBF and FMECA of components and maintain well communication with the Engineering team and RAMS team.

  • To communicate and to setup the warranty method baseline with customer and supplier.

  • To review warranty invoices, based on findings and communicate these to our customers and the project stake holders.

  • To prepare a weekly or monthly warranty report to project stakeholder and to the customer, including trend, pareto analysis for top field failures.

  • Responsible on corrective actions of top field failures and track to completion.

  • Complete detailed warranty analysis on specific field failures, as required.

  • Attend customer warranty meetings as required.

  • To support PI function on other warranty related scope within AT organisation.

  • To arrange and coordinate all components/parts availability during the project implementation, handover and DLP phase.

  • To generate and maintain the maintenance schedule.

  • To provide support to the AT materials team in the identification of component and assemblies AT/supplier part numbers. Swift identification of previously un demanded materials minimises ATs liquidated damage (LD) risk.


Key Requirements:



  • Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical or Mechanical.

  • Relevant experience in Rolling Stock V&V.

  • Rolling Stock/Railway Design and Maintenance background would be of advantage.

  • Technical Knowledge of the Movia fleet or similar platform would be of advantage.

  • Business knowledge in Rolling Stock building block system, depot, operations and process.

  • Extensive experience of AT internal processes and systems or an eagerness to learn.

  • Computer Literate – Knowledge of Word, Excel, Power Point.

  • Good communication skills at all levels.

  • Attention to detail and clear levels of ownership.

  • Customer focused.
