The IBM WebSphere Application Server software is a critical part of the middleware stack and is therefore a key element in today’s business of our clients. As a Technical Support Engineer you will be a part of the international team providing seamless 24x7 remote technical support for WebSphere Application Server software products on multiple Operating Systems (AIX, HP-UX, Linux, Solaris, Windows and z/OS). You will collaborate with experts across IBM to perform problem diagnosis to solve complex technical issues when working with System Administrators and Developers for the world’s leading companies in industries including banking, commerce, insurance, social media, transportation, and government. Your focus will be on a specific set of clients that require high attention and responsiveness, developing expertise in their environment and configuration. You will have opportunities to continually grow your skills and expertise through creative and collaborative problem resolution, examining source code, working with development to drive product improvements, creating test cases and developing knowledge assets to help deliver quality solutions and experiences for our clients to ensure their success. We are looking for candidates who are self-starters, quick learners, enjoy working in a challenging, fast paced collaborative environment, can flexibly prioritize work, and who have technical skills in areas such as Java, web servers, networking, security, connections to back end services (JCA, JMS, etc), and interpreting system traces and dumps. Fluent spoken and written communication in both English and Portuguese is required. Experience in WebSphere Application Server, Liberty, HTTP Server, and eXtreme Scale are preferred. Required Technical and Professional Expertise Fluent in written and spoken English Fluent in written and spoken Portuguese Experience in problem analysis by recreating problems and/or utilizing dumps and traces Knowledge in Java diagnosis and debugging technologies Preferred Technical and Professional Experience Experience in Application and Web Server administration and implementation (including related technologies, e.g.: XML, Connectors, EJB, JSP, Servlets, Security, and Web services) Experience in eXtreme Scale (session manager, dynamic caching, session grids, dynacache grids, high availability (HA) components) Experience in customer support processes Soft Skill: Solid experience to interact with clients, which also includes: Excellent verbal and written communication, effective listening, team work. Bachelor's Degree (Graduated in TI) Eligibility Requirements .
