Versent is a rapidly growing Cloud Consulting organisation, specialising in AWS. We have offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Singapore and have grown to over 270 people in just four years! We're going through a period of massive growth and are launching our Perth office! We already have our first client and big project locked in and we're now looking to build our foundation team. You will get stacks of support from our offices in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as the opportunity to grow within the company, quickly.

You'll be working on enterprise size projects with well known companies. You'll be put with an experienced team made of engineers, developers and a Principal Consultant. Your drive and enthusiasm to stretch yourself and grow your career will set you apart from the rest!


Key activity:

o Re-platforming/re-installing business applications from older system OS to newer OS. The initial project will be 95% Windows focused. Previous experience reinstalling and reconfiguring apps from one server to another essential.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) experience is preferable but not mandated. However, we are looking for a candidate who is passionate about DevOps and Cloud and wants to build their experience and skills in AWS and DevOps.

Skills and experience required:

You will have five years + experience as a Systems Engineer or a Systems Admin in a Windows environment. You must have a strong level of experience with applications support. You will also have a strong interest in automation and ideally some commercial experience with automation:

o Windows 2003/2008/2012/2016

o RHEL 5/6/7

o Experience with DevOps Automation Tooling preferable- Jenkins, Ansible, Scripting, Git, JIRA, Confluence

o Ability to engage with application custodians/stakeholders to manage application changes

o Experience with stakeholder management for approach, outages, changes, testing

o Ability to work with and leverage support teams external to the project team (eg wintel, network, security teams)

o Awareness and consideration of the impact of change activities eg. stopping service X will impact # users

o Ability to reverse engineer a system to understand the interdependencies to/from other systems and components

o Understanding of network connectivity to identify, diagnose, escalate firewall/access issues

o Experience working in a multi-site global network

o Experience with enterprise systems

o Good/pragmatic troubleshooting approach

o Strong written and verbal communication skills

Competency in Windows - MUST have:

o Scripting / Coding / Automation

o Windows 2003/2008 re-platforming to Windows 2012/2016

Competency in Linux based - preferred.

o Scripting / Coding / Automation

Competency in DevOps - Desirable:

- DevOps Automation Tooling - Jenkins, Ansible, Scripting, Git

Work Productivity - JIRA, Confluence
