The .NET Developer role involves supporting and enhancing mission-critical enterprise applications within a complex hybrid environment that combines legacy IBM mainframe systems and modern Microsoft technologies. The mid-level developer will focus on application development, maintenance, modernization, system integrations, reporting solutions, and production support to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
Responsibilities:- Analyze and decode legacy Easytrieve enterprise applications on IBM mainframe platforms.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications and application solutions.
- Design, develop, test, and deploy application enhancements and defect fixes.
- Support batch processing, data transformation, and enterprise integration workflows.
- Develop and maintain reports, extracts, and data distribution processes.
- Create and support ETL solutions using SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
- Design, develop, and maintain reporting solutions using SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
- Develop and maintain applications and utilities using .NET technologies.
- Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and database objects.
- Monitor and resolve production support issues ensuring system stability and data integrity.
- Participate in application modernization and legacy migration initiatives.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and improve processes.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, application specifications, and support procedures.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards.
- Support various testing efforts including unit, integration, regression, architecture, and user acceptance testing.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 3 7 years of professional software development experience.
- 3+ years experience in IBM Mainframe development environments.
- Strong familiarity with CMS Advise (835) and CMS 837 Health Care Claim file elements and standards.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise applications.
- Proficient in mainframe technologies including JCL, CICS, ROSCOE or TSO, Easytrieve/EasyPlus, and batch processing.
- Expertise in Microsoft technologies: .NET Framework / .NET Core, C#, Entity Framework Core.
- Strong database and reporting skills with SQL Server, T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, stored procedures, and database performance tuning.
- Familiarity with development tools such as Visual Studio, Git, Azure DevOps Server, SSMS, and Markdown documentation.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Experience with application modernization and legacy system migration.
- Knowledge of manipulating and reporting on CMS data files (835 & 837) and ANSI ASC X12 HIPAA transaction sets.
- Experience with Medicaid electronic data specifications, companion guides, and state-specific formats.
- Expertise integrating mainframe applications with distributed platforms and APIs.
- Knowledge of ETL design and data transformation best practices.
- Familiarity with REST and SOAP web services.
- Experience with secure file transfer processes and data integration workflows.
- Experience with enterprise reporting and document generation solutions.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud services.
- Background in healthcare, financial services, government, insurance, or other regulated industries.
- Position requires onsite presence in Montgomery, AL.
- Contract role with a duration of 6-12 months, possibility of extension.
