One of the country's largest financial organizations is searching for an AI Automation Engineer to join their innovation-focused Data Science Engineering team in a high-impact, hybrid environment. This exciting opportunity begins as a 1-year W2 contract offering competitive benefits and the potential to extend or convert to permanent employment. The job requires a hybrid schedule (3 days per week) at their HQ location in Raleigh, NC.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement AI-driven automation solutions to streamline and modernize manual workflows
- Develop and orchestrate agent-based systems leveraging existing AI frameworks and models
- Assess AI solution performance, identifying reliability, accuracy, and security improvements
- Apply best practices to the deployment of AI technology within enterprise production environments
- Work closely with other software engineers to deliver scalable, collaborative solutions
- Rapidly prototype and present innovative demos and solutions for business stakeholders
- Contribute to technical architecture planning, migration projects, and ongoing evolution of enterprise platforms
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure compliance and security standards are met across all stages of development
Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field required
- 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience in Java and Python (minimum 2 years Python development)
- 1+ years' knowledge of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and/or agentic workflows in generative AI applications
- Deep familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC), version control, and DevOps pipelines
- Proven expertise building agentic AI solutions using frameworks such as Agent Development Kit (ADK), LangChain, or similar tools
- Experience with cloud-native development or application migration in multi-cloud environments (Azure, GCP, OpenShift preferred)
- Background in regulated or financial sectors is a strong plus, particularly with risk, compliance, or cybersecurity
- Exposure to MLOps or LLMOps practices, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows
- Proficiency in collaborating within agile, team-based environments
- Demonstrated ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and to present innovative demos to stakeholders
