Senior Mobile Developer (Android)
Location: Miami, FL - 4 Days onsite
Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Android Mobile Developer to lead the design, development, and support of enterprise-grade Android applications. This individual will serve as a technical leader while remaining hands-on with development and will play a key role in mentoring and coaching junior developers. The ideal candidate is passionate about mobile technologies, software craftsmanship, knowledge sharing, and building scalable, high-performing applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and Java.
- Lead technical discussions, architecture decisions, and solution design efforts.
- Mentor and coach junior developers through code reviews, pair programming, technical guidance, and best practice adoption.
- Partner with Product Owners, UX/UI designers, QA teams, and backend engineers to deliver high-quality mobile solutions.
- Build modern Android applications utilizing Jetpack Compose and Android Jetpack libraries.
- Develop scalable solutions using MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture principles.
- Integrate REST APIs, third-party SDKs, analytics platforms, and cloud services.
- Drive performance optimization, application stability, security, and maintainability initiatives.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, estimation, and technical roadmap discussions.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes, automated testing strategies, and release management.
Required Qualifications
- 7+ years of professional Android development experience.
- Expert-level proficiency with Kotlin and strong Java development skills.
- Extensive experience with Android SDK and modern Android development frameworks.
- Hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose, Coroutines, Flow, Navigation Components, and Android Jetpack libraries.
- Strong understanding of MVVM, MVI, or Clean Architecture patterns.
- Experience with Retrofit, OkHttp, Room Database, Hilt, Dagger, and RESTful APIs.
- Proven experience mentoring, coaching, or leading junior developers.
- Experience conducting code reviews and promoting engineering best practices.
- Strong understanding of mobile application security, performance tuning, and scalability.
- Experience working within Agile/Scrum development environments.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading Android development teams or serving as a Technical Lead.
- Experience with Firebase, Crashlytics, Analytics, and Push Notifications.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
- Knowledge of mobile security best practices and OWASP standards.
- Experience publishing and maintaining applications in the Google Play Store.
