Role Overview: In this position, you will design, develop, and maintain secure and scalable APIs that enhance healthcare systems, data sharing, and interoperability. Your work will improve patient care, data access, and healthcare innovation. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with cross‑functional healthcare teams, including IT, medical professionals, and third‑party partners, to understand project goals and requirements. Ensure the security and privacy of healthcare data and patient information by implementing industry standards and best practices, such as HIPAA and HL7. Integrate and maintain third‑party healthcare APIs, including EHR/EMR systems, telemedicine platforms, and data exchange networks. Implement authentication, authorization, and access control mechanisms for healthcare APIs to protect sensitive information. Create and optimize API documentation to assist developers, healthcare professionals, and partners in using healthcare APIs. Collaborate with healthcare compliance and regulatory teams to ensure APIs adhere to industry standards and legal requirements. Monitor API performance, conduct testing, and troubleshoot issues to maintain reliability and functionality. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Proven experience as an API Developer, with specific experience in the healthcare or healthcare‑related projects. Familiarity with healthcare compliance and security standards, including HIPAA, HITECH, HL7, and FHIR. Experience with healthcare‑related databases, EHR/EMR systems, and healthcare data exchange protocols is a plus. Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for API development, such as C#, Python, Java, or Java Script. Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and a results‑driven approach. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with healthcare professionals, IT teams, and third‑party partners. Awareness of emerging healthcare technology trends and interoperability standards. Technologies RESTful API, Web API . NET Core or. NET Framework 5 or newer (preferably MVC/REST) Azure Functions and Event Hub Non‑relational cloud‑based database such as Mongo DB or Azure Cosmos DB Azure SQL, Azure Cosmos DB RESTful design (SOAP or web‑based APIs are not acceptable) Required Skills Strong knowledge of React.js. Front‑end development skills: HTML, CSS, Java Script. Familiarity with Redox pattern. Experience working with Nightingale UI (good to have). Additional Preferences Type Sense or Elastic Search knowledge. Experience with healthcare‑related databases, EHR/EMR systems, and healthcare data exchange protocols. Awareness of emerging healthcare technology trends and interoperability standards.
