We are seeking an experienced
Application Developer
to support the ongoing maintenance and enhancement of a critical enterprise application (CSDS). The successful candidate will work closely with technical and business stakeholders to design, develop, test, and support secure, high-quality application solutions in a public-sector environment.
This role requires on-site work in Fredericton, New Brunswick, beginning on the specified start date.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain and enhance the CSDS application by evaluating business and client needs
Maintain and extend PL/SQL packages, including new functionality and defect resolution
Maintain and support a Java-based application
Develop SQL queries, views, stored procedures, and triggers
Conduct unit, functional, and regression testing; document test cases and results
Create, update, and maintain functional and technical specifications
Participate in system analysis, design, development, integration, configuration, and implementation activities
Contribute to user experience and interface design
Ensure secure application design and coding standards are met for all releases
Support performance tuning and optimization initiatives as required
Collaborate with and contribute to team practices and standards
Complete assigned development and design tasks
Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications (Must Haves)
University degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum
5 years of application programming and analysis experience
Minimum
5 years of demonstrated experience with CA Gen (version 8.5 or higher)
Minimum
5 years of demonstrated experience with SQL
Minimum
3 years of experience
developing, documenting, coding, testing, and implementing technical solutions to meet business requirements
Minimum
3 years of experience with SSRS
Minimum
3 years of experience supporting public-sector health care applications and/or systems
in a Canadian province or jurisdiction
Minimum
2 years of experience
with JBoss and/or Tomcat
Minimum
2 years of experience
with service management processes and tools (e.g., incident, change, request, release management)
Minimum
2 years of experience
working in UNIX/Linux environments
Minimum
1 year of experience
using version control software
Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
Ability to work on-site in Fredericton, NB starting February 2, 2026
