*Official Title- Data & Integrations Application Specialist


People Architects is partnering with a fast-growing business-services organization, but this position is embedded with and supports the client's optical manufacturing/laboratory operations.


Our client is seeking an Application & Data Integration Specialist to support its optical manufacturing and laboratory operations, primarily at its Phoenix and Pittsburgh facilities.

This newly created role will work closely with manufacturing and laboratory teams to develop and improve technology solutions that support day-to-day operations, data visibility, automation, and process efficiency. Approximately 80% of the role will be hands-on development, with the remaining focus on understanding business needs, troubleshooting, and supporting operational technology.


Responsibilities


Application Development & Business Solutions

  • Develop, enhance, and maintain applications and tools using C#/.NET
  • Work with existing and legacy code to troubleshoot, improve, and extend current applications
  • Partner directly with business and operations users to understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions
  • Participate in requirements gathering, solution design, development, testing, deployment, documentation, and support
  • Build solutions that improve operational efficiency, data visibility, accuracy, and automation
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automated workflows that reduce manual effort and improve data processing and synchronization


Data, SQL & Reporting

  • Develop SQL queries, stored procedures, and database solutions using Microsoft SQL Server
  • Extract, transform, validate, and analyze data from DVI and related systems
  • Develop recurring and ad hoc reports, dashboards, KPIs, and data visualizations for business and operational teams
  • Reconcile information across multiple systems and improve data integrity and reporting accuracy
  • Work with relational databases and understand underlying data structures and relationships
  • Translate operational data into useful information that supports business decisions


Systems Integration & Automation

  • Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot integrations between DVI and external applications and systems
  • Work with REST APIs, data exchanges, and integration technologies
  • Process and transform structured data including JSON, XML, CSV, and flat files
  • Develop scripts using languages such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, VBScript, or shell scripting
  • Support automated file exchanges, data synchronization, and other integration processes
  • Potentially contribute to broader technology initiatives involving Snowflake, APIs, and other enterprise systems


DVI & Application Support

  • Learn and support DVI, the primary laboratory management platform used by the client's optical laboratories
  • Maintain and improve DVI configurations, pricing tables, product catalogs, translation tables, and related processes
  • Troubleshoot application and data issues and coordinate solutions with vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Document system configurations, workflows, technical solutions, and operational procedures
  • Provide functional and technical support as needed


AI-Assisted Development & Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve existing applications, workflows, reporting, and operational processes
  • Leverage AI tools throughout the development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, solution design, code generation, documentation, testing, and quality assurance
  • Review, understand, and validate AI-generated code to ensure solutions are technically sound, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business requirements
  • Identify opportunities where AI and emerging technologies can improve development productivity and operational efficiency
  • Evaluate and implement technologies that support business objectives
  • Perform other related duties as assigned


Minimum Requirements


Technical skills

  • 5+ years of experience in application development, software development, systems integration, or a related technical field
  • Strong hands-on experience with C#/.NET
  • Strong SQL and relational database experience, preferably with Microsoft SQL Server
  • Experience working with existing or legacy applications and codebases
  • Experience with software development lifecycle practices, including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with scripting, data extraction, transformation, and system integration
  • Working knowledge of REST APIs and data integration concepts
  • Experience processing structured data such as JSON, XML, CSV, and flat files
  • Experience troubleshooting application, data, and integration issues
  • Ability to work directly with technical and non-technical users to understand business requirements and develop practical solutions
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


Scripting & Data

Experience developing and maintaining scripts using one or more scripting languages such as:

  • Python
  • PowerShell
  • JavaScript
  • VBScript
  • Shell scripting


Experience with relational databases and data modeling concepts.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Python
  • Experience supporting or developing applications that integrate with APIs and external systems
  • Experience working with legacy systems and applications
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, KPIs, or business intelligence solutions
  • Experience with DVI laboratory management software
  • Experience in an optical laboratory, manufacturing, production operations, or healthcare technology environment
  • Experience with ETL processes, data warehousing, or platforms such as Snowflake
  • Familiarity with source control systems and software development best practices
  • Experience supporting cloud-based applications and services'
