Role Overview
The Online Application Lead will be responsible for leading the design, development, and delivery of scalable and secure web applications using Java Spring Boot, hosted on WebSphere Application Server (WAS) and integrated with cloud services on AWS. The role requires hands‑on technical expertise combined with leadership skills to guide a team of developers and ensure high‑quality application solutions that meet business requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership & Delivery: Lead end-to-end delivery of online/web applications. Guide a team of developers, providing technical mentorship and code reviews. Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and DevOps teams.
- Application Development: Design and develop robust, scalable, and maintainable backend solutions using Java (Spring Boot) . Manage deployment and runtime environments using WebSphere Application Server (WAS) . Ensure high performance, security, and availability of applications.
- Cloud Integration: Implement and optimize cloud-native solutions using AWS (e.g., EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, API Gateway). Apply best practices in CI/CD, cloud security, and serverless/microservices architecture.
- Maintenance & Support: Monitor and troubleshoot application performance and incidents. Support release management, environment configuration, and production deployments.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, deployment guides, and operations manuals. Ensure solutions comply with regulatory, security, and enterprise standards.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters in Computer Science or related field.
- Over 6 years hands‑on experience with Java , Spring Boot , and RESTful API development .
- Experience working with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS) .
- Solid understanding and experience with AWS services (especially EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, etc.).
- Proficient in SQL and relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Experience in Agile development environments and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, Git).
- Knowledge of DevOps tools and practices (CI/CD pipelines, Jenkins, Docker, etc.).
- Experience in microservices architecture and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Problem‑solving and analytical thinking.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Strong stakeholder management skills.
Compensation
Compensation at Accenture varies depending on a wide array of factors, which may include but are not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by local law, Accenture provides a reasonable range of compensation, based on full‑time employment, for roles that may be hired as set forth below. The base pay range shown below is intended as a guideline to reflect the majority of offers for this role. It does not represent a maximum limit — in some cases, actual compensation may exceed the range where appropriate.
Role Location: Annual Salary Range
British Columbia/Ontario: $82,600 to $132,600
