Role Description
iOS Developer – Build a Social Media App (Instagram-style)
We're building a native iOS social media application and looking for an experienced developer to bring it to life.
What you'll build
- Native iOS app with photo and video sharing
- User profiles, follow/unfollow system, and activity feed
- Stories feature (24-hour ephemeral content)
- Likes, comments, and direct messaging
- Push notifications
- Image and video upload, compression, and filters
- Explore/discovery feed with search
Required experience
- 4+ years building and shipping native iOS apps
- Strong Swift and SwiftUI (or UIKit) expertise
- At least one social, media-heavy, or feed-based app published on the App Store
- Experience with real-time features (messaging, live updates)
- Backend integration: REST APIs, WebSockets, push notifications
- Media handling: AVFoundation, image/video compression, caching
- Familiar with Firebase, AWS, or similar (auth, storage, database)
- Comfortable with App Store submission and the full release process
Nice to have
- Experience scaling apps to high user volumes
- Knowledge of video streaming or CDN setup
- Backend development skills (Node.js, Python, or similar) if full-stack
- UI/UX sensibility and ability to translate Figma designs into clean code
