Job Summary:
The Application Programmer / QA Engineer (Senior / Intermediate) is responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining scientific research data applications, particularly those based on Drupal and Tripal platforms. This role supports software enhancements, automated testing, DevSecOps, and cybersecurity efforts to ensure high-quality and secure application delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain Drupal and Tripal applications.
- Design, execute, and automate software testing activities.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Perform application troubleshooting and defect remediation.
- Support DevSecOps and CI/CD activities.
- Analyze and mitigate cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and project planning.
- Maintain code repositories and issue tracking within GitHub.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Proficiency in Drupal, Tripal, and Chado.
- Strong programming skills in PHP and Python.
- Experience with Git/GitHub for version control.
- Familiarity with containerization tools such as Docker or Podman.
- Working knowledge of Linux environments.
- Experience with automated testing tools.
- Understanding of web application development methodologies.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience with DevSecOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices and vulnerability mitigation.
- Familiarity with Agile project management and collaboration tools.
