Job Overview
We are seeking a Senior Product Services Engineer to join our Product Services Engineering team. This role focuses on root-cause analysis, technical troubleshooting, issue resolution, and customer communication in support of internal and external energy software platforms.
The ideal candidate combines strong software troubleshooting skills with an understanding of renewable energy and energy storage systems. You will work closely with Software Engineering, Data Science, Customer Success, and Business Management teams to resolve complex issues and improve the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand user context and identify usage patterns that may require support intervention.
- Troubleshoot and perform root-cause analysis on user-reported software issues.
- Identify opportunities for product enhancements and help prioritize bug fixes.
- Identify application/model inputs and outputs to diagnose issues effectively.
- Set up local development environments to debug and troubleshoot reported issues.
- Use Unix command-line tools, SQL, and monitoring/observability platforms such as Grafana or CloudWatch.
- Work with AWS services including S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Collaborate with Software Engineering, Data Science, Customer Success, and Business Management teams.
- Communicate technical issues and resolutions clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Provide customer feedback and technical insights that help influence the product roadmap.
- Support continuous improvements to product functionality and reliability.
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience in product support, application support, technical support, software engineering, or a closely related technical role.
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills.
- Experience with SQL.
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux command line.
- Experience with software debugging and troubleshooting.
- Ability to establish and work within a local development environment.
- Familiarity with AWS, particularly S3, CloudWatch, Lambda, and Step Functions.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana or CloudWatch.
- Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Understanding of renewable energy and/or energy storage systems.
