Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance WINS application modules on the IBM i (AS/400) platform.
- Analyze business requirements and design technical solutions.
- Write, modify, test, and debug RPG IV, RPGLE, Free Format RPG, and CL/CLLE programs.
- Develop and optimize SQL queries and DB2/400 database objects.
- Support insurance business functions including:
- Policy Administration
- Claims Processing
- Billing and Premium Management
- Underwriting
- Customer Information Management
- Investigate and resolve production issues within SLA timelines.
- Perform impact analysis and implement application enhancements.
- Participate in code reviews, unit testing, integration testing, and deployment.
- Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and stakeholders during project execution.
- Prepare technical documentation and support knowledge transfer activities.
- Follow SDLC and change management processes.
Required Skills
- Strong experience with IBM i (AS/400 / iSeries).
- Expertise in RPG IV, RPGLE, RPG Free, CL/CLLE.
- Experience with DB2/400 and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with the WINS Insurance Application.
- Knowledge of DDS, Subfiles, Printer Files, Physical Files, and Logical Files.
- Experience in production support, debugging, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with source control and change management tools (e.g., Aldon) is desirable.
- Understanding of batch processing, job scheduling, and system monitoring.
- Good analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 8+ years of experience in AS/400 development.
- Experience in the insurance domain is highly preferred.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum methodologies is an added advantage.
