Assembler

Join our dynamic team as an Assembler in a fast-paced production manufacturing environment. You will perform hands-on production assembly work at an assembly cell or station, striving to achieve specific production goals each shift. This position requires you to stand for a full 10-hour shift while assembling metal valves and fixture parts by hand, possibly using blueprints. You will utilize a combination of hand tools, power tools, and torque tools to assemble parts, and be trained to operate production machines. Additional tasks may include packing, labeling, painting parts, visual quality inspections, pressure testing, and cleaning parts.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on production assembly work in an assembly cell or station.
  • Assemble metal valves and fixture parts using hand tools, power tools, and torque tools.
  • Operate machines to assemble or install parts of valves and fixtures.
  • Pack, label, and tag parts for shipment, and paint parts as needed.
  • Conduct visual quality inspections and complete production reports/paperwork.
  • Perform pressure testing of valve pieces using PSI measurements.
  • Clean parts using chemical solutions, cloths, or air hoses.

Essential Skills

  • 1-2+ years of current or recent assembly experience.
  • Experience with assembly, hand tools, power tools, and production line work.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to learn and follow repetitive assembly procedures.
  • Comfortable working at a fast pace to meet production goals.
  • Experience with assembly drawings, instructions, testing, and production.
  • Familiarity with calipers, torque wrenches, torque tools, and micrometers.
  • Experience in machine operation and subassembly.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Mechanical experience from industries such as construction, roofing, carpentry, or home remodeling.
  • Good tenure in previous positions, with a strong work ethic.
  • Willingness to cross-train on new machines and assembly areas.
  • Fluency in English is required; bilingual capabilities are a plus.
  • Ability to lift 45 pounds and perform repeated physical tasks for 10 hours.
  • Excellent manual dexterity for coordinated hand and finger movements.
  • Blueprint experience is advantageous.

Work Environment

You will work in a clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled facility, either independently or as part of a team in an assembly station or cell. The environment is fast-paced, requiring quick and efficient work to achieve production goals. Be prepared to stand for 10-hour shifts, with a schedule that includes working six days a week, Friday and Saturday shifts included. Adhere to our dress code, which requires safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toe footwear, work shirts, and jeans or work pants.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burlington, NC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr.
