Job Title: Assistant Controller

Position Overview
The Assistant Controller will play a key role in supporting financial planning, reporting, and operational analysis. This position partners closely with cross-functional teams including distribution, production, manufacturing, and sales to provide insights that drive performance and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with month-end close processes, including journal entries, inventory valuation, accruals, variance analysis, and reconciliation support
- Prepare Monthly Consolidations
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports, highlighting key trends, profitability, and performance drivers
- Conduct operational and business analysis to support shipping operations and improve visibility
- Analyze gross margin, pricing, and product profitability across categories and channels
- Support inventory analysis, including turnover, aging, and reserve recommendations
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
- Ensure data accuracy and maintain financial reporting tools and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field
- Active CPA certification or CPA candidate
- 5+ years of experience in Accounting and a role involving financial accounting, preferably in apparel, retail, or consumer goods
- Strong understanding of financial statements and accounting principles
- Experience supporting month-end close and working with large datasets
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial modeling)
- Experience with SQL and/or BI tools is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
