Buckeye Partners is currently seeking an Associate Engineer who is a self-starting problem solver that demonstrates a continuous learning attitude and is looking for engineering career development within the Oil & Gas industry to join our team!

Role Summary:

The Associate Engineer is an entry level position within Buckeye’s Engineering Development Program (EDP). As an EDP participant, you will gain exposure to a minimum of 3 critical areas of the organization through immersive assignments over 2 to 3 years. These assignments will be combined with opportunities for mentorship and training to develop professional & technical skills, while identifying strengths & areas of interests.

Responsibilities & Essential Functions include:

The EDP is tailored to the individual to help identify and explore areas of interest through impactful projects and mentorship. You will take on varied Engineering & Capital Projects roles in program execution, operations & project support, project development & management and other duties as assigned.

Below are examples of work that could be assigned to support the business:

  • Provide project support through offering innovative engineering solutions and preparing documentation for capital projects.
  • Conduct engineering drawing walk downs and engage with key stakeholders on the review and approval of improved engineering drawings.
  • Shadow and support project management throughout project life cycle (i.e. scoping, estimating, purchasing/contracting, construction management, commissioning/close out)
  • Work with disciplined engineers to provide operations support to increase asset reliability.
  • Support asset integrity program implementation through data analysis, schedule tracking and Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting.
  • Analyze program performance data to distill meaningful insights for prioritized maintenance work.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
  • 0-2 years related experience
  • Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills
  • Ability to read engineering drawings
  • Pipeline & terminal industry knowledge
  • The candidate must be proficient using Microsoft Office.
  • Travel Requirements: Travel varies from 25% to 50%

Desired Skills:

  • Strong performance during prior internship or co-op
  • Ability to present technical information in a simple way.
  • Exposure and/or proficiency in AutoCad, PowerBi, SQL, GIS
  • Background in technical writing

Certificates & Licenses:

  • EIT registration desirable.
