We are currently looking for an Associate Software Engineer (JL2) to join our APM FLOW Integration team, based in Bangalore, India.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development & Automation
Develop and maintain software components using Java.
Write clean, readable, maintainable, and testable code.
Develop and maintain automated test cases for applications and integrations.
Contribute to reusable automation frameworks and testing utilities.
Debug application and integration issues and work with senior engineers to identify root causes.
Participate in code reviews and follow established engineering standards.
Testing & Quality
Understand requirements and translate them into appropriate test scenarios and test cases.
Execute automated and manual tests to validate application functionality and reliability.
Develop basic API and integration tests.
Analyze test failures and help identify root causes.
Contribute to improving test coverage, automation, and overall software quality.
Document test cases, defects, test results, and technical findings.
Event-Driven Data Flows
Develop an understanding of event-driven architectures and distributed systems.
Work with technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging platforms.
Support testing and troubleshooting of event-driven microservices.
Validate data flow, consistency, and processing across integrated systems.
Learn how real-time events move between different services and applications.
AI & Engineering Innovation
Develop an interest in AI-assisted software development and testing.
Support team initiatives to leverage Generative AI for test case generation, automation, code assistance, debugging, documentation, and engineering productivity.
Participate in AI proof-of-concepts and innovation initiatives within the FLOW Integration team.
Explore opportunities to use AI to improve automation coverage, defect detection, testing efficiency, and software quality.
Learn and experiment with emerging AI tools relevant to software engineering.
Prior AI experience is not mandatory; curiosity, experimentation, and willingness to learn are key.
Collaboration
Work closely with software engineers, QA engineers, product managers, and DevOps teams.
Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies.
Collaborate with senior engineers and progressively take ownership of assigned tasks.
Communicate technical issues and findings clearly with the wider team.
Contribute to a culture of quality, learning, and continuous improvement.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve development, testing, automation, and engineering processes.
Learn new technologies and engineering practices relevant to the team.
Participate in technical discussions, knowledge-sharing sessions, and code reviews.

Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Fresh graduates and candidates with relevant internship or academic project experience are encouraged to apply.
Experience
0–2 years of experience in software development, QA automation, or a related engineering role.
Internship or academic project experience involving Java, software testing, APIs, automation, or software engineering is an advantage.
Technical Skills
Java & Programming
Good programming fundamentals in Java.
Basic understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
Understanding of basic data structures and algorithms.
Familiarity with Java collections and exception handling.
Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable Java code.
Basic debugging and problem-solving skills.
Basic understanding of unit testing using JUnit or TestNG.
Test Automation
Basic understanding of software testing concepts and test case design.
Ability to create and execute functional test cases.
Exposure to automation frameworks/tools such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, JUnit, or TestNG is an advantage.
Interest in developing automated tests and improving test coverage.
Ability to investigate and troubleshoot test failures.
API & Integration Testing
Basic understanding of REST APIs and HTTP concepts.
Exposure to API testing tools such as Postman, RestAssured, Karate, or similar is a plus.
Understanding of basic request/response validation.
Interest in learning integration testing across multiple services.
CI/CD & Development Tools
Basic knowledge of Git and version control.
Understanding of basic CI/CD concepts.
Exposure to Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, or similar tools is an advantage.
Willingness to learn automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
Event-Driven Systems
Basic understanding of event-driven architecture and messaging concepts.
Exposure to Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar technologies is a plus.
Willingness to learn distributed systems and event-driven microservices.
Ability to understand and troubleshoot basic event flows with guidance from senior engineers.
Database & Data Testing
Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases.
Ability to write simple SQL queries for data validation.
Understanding of basic data consistency and validation concepts.
Exposure to real-time data processing or data pipelines is an advantage.
Performance Testing
Basic awareness of performance, scalability, and reliability concepts.
Exposure to JMeter, Gatling, or similar tools is a plus but not mandatory.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork skills.
Strong willingness to learn and develop technical skills.
