About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Lead AWS Python Developer to join our engineering team in Atlanta, GA. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in Python development and AWS cloud architecture, with a proven track record of leading technical teams and delivering scalable, cloud-native solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable applications using Python and AWS cloud services
Architect and implement cloud-native solutions leveraging AWS services (Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, CloudFormation, etc.)
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of developers, conducting code reviews and enforcing best practices
Collaborate with product managers, architects, and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions
Design and implement CI/CD pipelines to streamline development and deployment processes
Ensure application performance, security, and scalability across cloud environments
Drive infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues across the application stack
Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to technical roadmap planning
Stay current with emerging AWS services and Python ecosystem trends
Required Qualifications
8+ years of professional experience in software development, with strong proficiency in Python
5+ years of hands-on experience with AWS cloud services (Lambda, EC2, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SNS/SQS, CloudWatch, IAM, VPC)
Proven experience in a technical lead role, guiding development teams and driving architecture decisions
Strong experience with RESTful API design and microservices architecture
Hands-on experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes/EKS)
Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK)
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, etc.)
Solid understanding of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, MongoDB)
Experience with monitoring/logging tools (CloudWatch, ELK Stack, Datadog, etc.)
Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and Agile methodologies
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Preferred Qualifications
AWS Certification (Solutions Architect, Developer Associate, or DevOps Engineer)
Experience with serverless architecture and event-driven design
Familiarity with data engineering/ETL pipelines
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments leading sprint planning and retrospectives
Knowledge of security best practices in cloud environments (IAM policies, encryption, compliance)
