Job Summary

STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a AWS / Snowflake Database Architect on behalf of our client in Woodlawn, MD. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced cloud data professional to lead the design, optimization, and security of enterprise-scale database platforms across AWS and Snowflake environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in database architecture, data engineering, cloud-native services, security best practices, and performance optimization while providing technical leadership across complex data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable and secure AWS database architectures.
  • Manage and optimize cloud-native database services and EMR clusters.
  • Develop and integrate data solutions leveraging AWS services such as Lambda, S3, EC2, and Glue.
  • Implement database security controls, encryption strategies, IAM policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Design and maintain backup, disaster recovery, high-availability, and failover solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database performance and operational issues.
  • Architect and administer Snowflake databases, schemas, and virtual warehouses.
  • Develop, review, and optimize advanced SQL queries and database performance.
  • Support compliance, governance, and audit-related documentation.
  • Provide technical leadership, architectural guidance, and mentorship to engineering teams.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as a Database Architect or in a similar role.
  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS database technologies and Snowflake.
  • Deep expertise in database design, optimization, troubleshooting, and administration.
  • Advanced SQL development and performance tuning skills.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation and scripting technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience leading enterprise architecture and solution design initiatives.
  • Strong Linux scripting expertise supporting ETL processes and data migrations.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.
  • Experience working within highly regulated or public-sector environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain and support mission-critical production systems.
