Our client is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer / Senior Software Engineer to support the delivery of enterprise-scale digital applications and technology solutions. Based in Wan Chai, this role will focus on backend and full-stack development, API/microservices design, cloud-enabled application delivery, and collaboration across cross-functional onshore and offshore teams.
Key Responsibilities
Backend & Full Stack Application Development
Design, develop, and maintain scalable enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, Hibernate/JPA, and related technologies.
Build and enhance backend services, frontend components, and full-stack features to support business and digital solution requirements.
Develop high-quality, maintainable, and reusable code following modern software engineering best practices.
API, Microservices & System Integration
Design and develop RESTful APIs and microservices-based architectures to support system integration and scalable application delivery.
Work with internal and external systems to ensure reliable data flow, service connectivity, and application interoperability.
Support performance optimisation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of application architecture.
Cloud, DevOps & Deployment Support
Support cloud-enabled application development and deployment using AWS core services such as ECS, S3, and Lambda.
Work with DevOps tools and practices including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
Participate in deployment, release management, environment support, and production issue resolution where required.
Database, Messaging & Caching Technologies
Design and support application data layers using databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and related technologies.
Work with messaging and caching platforms such as Kafka and Redis to support scalable and high-performance application design.
Support database performance tuning, data integrity, and system reliability.
Agile Delivery & SDLC Execution
Participate in Agile development activities including sprint planning, backlog refinement, development, testing, and release delivery.
Support the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), covering requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and ongoing support.
Use tools such as Git for version control and Jira for project and task management.
Cross-functional Collaboration & Technical Problem Solving
Work closely with business users, project teams, developers, QA, DevOps, and offshore teams to deliver quality solutions.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
Drive continuous improvement in software quality, system performance, and engineering practices.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Minimum 5 years’ hands-on software development experience, with proven experience delivering enterprise-scale applications or digital solutions.
Strong backend and full-stack development experience using Java, Spring Boot, React.js, Hibernate/JPA.
Hands‑on experience designing and developing RESTful APIs and microservices‑based architectures.
Solid understanding of SDLC, including requirements analysis, solution design, development, testing, deployment, and support.
Experience working in Agile environments such as Scrum or Kanban.
Knowledge of database technologies such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB.
Experience with Git and Jira for version control and task/project management.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and optimise application performance.
Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross‑functional, onshore, and offshore teams.
Able to manage multiple priorities and deliver high‑quality solutions in a fast‑paced environment.
Preferred
Hands‑on exposure to AWS Cloud services such as ECS, S3, and Lambda.
Experience with DevOps tools and practices including Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of messaging and caching platforms such as Kafka and Redis.
