Applications Development Senior Programmer Analyst

This intermediate level position is responsible for participating in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities

Conduct tasks related to feasibility studies, time and cost estimates, IT planning, risk technology, applications development, model development, and establish and implement new or revised applications systems and programs to meet specific business needs or user areas.
Monitor and control all phases of development process and analysis, design, construction, testing, and implementation while providing user and operational support on applications to business users.
Utilize in-depth specialty knowledge of applications development to analyze complex problems/issues, evaluate business and system processes, and make evaluative judgments.
Recommend and develop security measures in post‑implementation analysis of business usage to ensure successful system design and functionality.
Consult with users/clients and other technology groups on issues, recommend advanced programming solutions, and install and assist with customer exposure systems.
Ensure essential procedures are followed and help define operating standards and processes.
Serve as advisor or coach to new or lower level analysts.
Operate with limited direct supervision, exercising independence of judgment and autonomy.
Act as SME to senior stakeholders and/or other team members.
Assess risk appropriately when business decisions are made, demonstrating consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets through compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, and applying sound ethical judgment.

Qualifications

4+ years of relevant Java experience.
3+ years of hands‑on experience with RESTful service implementations.
3+ years of experience and familiarity building modern Spring applications with Spring Boot.
3+ years of experience building distributed, service‑oriented, microservice‑style and cloud‑based architectures (Amazon, ECS, Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes).
3+ years of hands‑on experience with Jenkins, TeamCity, SonarQube, BitBucket.
Strong understanding of different storage architectures and their appropriate application.
Experience in software development SDLC (Agile).
Excellent knowledge of multithreading, thread‑pooling, OOP, and OOAD skills.
Experience in developing real‑time low‑latency applications preferred.
Exposure to or experience in message‑driven architectures.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
