Blutic is looking for experienced Senior Backend Developer (Java + Databricks) with 6 to 9 years of experience to join our high-performing engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Spring Framework, Databricks, SQL, Test-Driven Development (TDD), and multi-threaded application development . Experience in the investment banking or financial services domain is plus .
This is a W2 (Hybrid) opportunity.

Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- 6 to 9 years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
- Strong experience with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security) .
- Hands-on experience with Databricks .
- Strong SQL skills with database performance tuning and query optimization.
- Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and writing unit/integration tests.
- Experience with multi-threading, concurrent programming, and low-latency systems .
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), design patterns, and software architecture principles.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Preferred Skills
- Prior experience in the investment banking or financial services domain.
- Familiarity with FIX protocol, trading platforms, or risk management systems.
- Experience with messaging systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or ActiveMQ.
- Experience with performance profiling and optimization tools.
- Exposure to Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure or AWS is an added advantage.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development
- Develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-grade Java applications.
- Build scalable and secure solutions using Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security) .
- Design and optimize high-performance SQL queries and database interactions.
- Develop multi-threaded applications capable of handling high-concurrency workloads.
- Develop and integrate data processing solutions using Databricks for large-scale data engineering and analytics workloads.
Test-Driven Development (TDD)
- Write clean, maintainable, and testable code following TDD principles.
- Develop and maintain robust unit and integration tests.
- Ensure code quality through automated testing, peer reviews, and continuous integration practices.
Domain-Specific Solutions
- Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to translate financial requirements into technical solutions.
- Develop and enhance trading platforms, risk management systems, and settlement applications.
- Optimize applications and data pipelines for performance, scalability, and low-latency processing.
- Work with structured and semi-structured data using Databricks and Spark-based technologies.
- Mentor junior developers and provide technical guidance.
- Collaborate with DevOps, QA, Data Engineering, and Product teams to ensure seamless solution delivery.
- Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to technical decision-making.
- Identify opportunities for application and data pipeline optimization.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and best practices in Java development, Databricks, and financial technology.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across the development lifecycle.
Information Security Responsibilities
- Promote and enforce awareness of key information security practices, including acceptable use of information assets, malware protection, and password security protocols.
- Identify, assess, and report security risks, focusing on confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.
- Understand and evaluate how data is stored, processed, or transmitted, ensuring compliance with data privacy and protection standards (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
- Ensure data protection measures are integrated throughout the information lifecycle to safeguard sensitive information.
