Here’s a brief overview of the tasks and responsibilities you’ll have:

  • Design and develop robust back-end solutions in Java, including REST APIs, microservices, and cross-system integrations for financial crime detection and prevention;
  • Contribute to the evolution of the application architecture by proposing solutions adapted to the challenges of performance, security, scalability and resilience;
  • Maintain and evolve existing solutions according to regulatory requirements and business needs;
  • Deploy and operate services on AWS, including Lambda, API Gateway, S3, SQS, ECS/EKS, and CloudWatch;
  • Perform rigorous code reviews and support junior and intermediate members in their technical development;
  • Reduce technical debt by identifying vulnerabilities, optimization opportunities, and areas for improvement;
  • Integrate DevOps practices into the development lifecycle, including automation, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code, and artifact management;
  • Enforce application security standards throughout the software lifecycle;
  • Support components in production and contribute to the resolution of incidents in compliance with service levels;
  • Actively collaborate with stakeholders to ensure clear specifications before work begins;
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including sprint reviews, refinement activities, and program planning;
  • Act as a technical reference on Java and AWS-related topics.

The profile you are looking for is as follows:

  • Have more than seven (7) years of experience in back-end software development;
  • Be proficient in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architectures in a production environment;
  • Have a strong background in developing REST APIs and distributed services;
  • Have proven experience with AWS, including Lambda, API Gateway, ECS/EKS, S3, SQS, and CloudWatch;
  • Knowledge of CI/CD practices and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or equivalent;
  • Use Git and versioning approaches such as GitFlow;
  • Demonstrate an ability to develop scripts, automations, or integrations in Python;
  • Apply infrastructure as code principles with Terraform, CDK or CloudFormation (an asset);
  • Use Jira, Confluence, or similar Atlassian tools (an asset);
  • Possess excellent communication skills in French and English, both oral and written;
  • Demonstrate autonomy, technical leadership, rigor and a strong spirit of collaboration;
  • Demonstrate an ability to popularise technical concepts to non-technical speakers;
  • Experience with a fraud detection or anti-money laundering platform (an asset);
  • Knowledge of the realities of a regulated banking or financial environment (an asset);
  • Master code inspection practices with SonarQube or an equivalent tool (an asset);
  • Apply application security best practices, including OWASP, secrets management, and security reviews (an asset);
  • Hold an AWS Solutions Architect or Developer certification (an asset);

This position requires fluency in French and English for daily tasks, understanding documentation, and professional communication with customers, suppliers, and colleagues across Canada.
