Job Summary
STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Backend Developer - Python / FastAPI on behalf of our client in Remote. This role is ideal for a skilled backend engineer who enjoys developing, maintaining, and optimizing scalable applications and APIs. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production environments, enhancing existing applications, resolving technical issues, and delivering high-quality backend solutions within an Agile development environment.
Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Python and FastAPI.

Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, perform root-cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.

Enhance existing applications through code improvements, bug fixes, and incremental feature development.

Develop and optimize business logic, database integrations, and third-party service integrations.

Ensure application performance, reliability, scalability, and security best practices.

Collaborate closely with product owners, architects, front-end developers, QA teams, and other stakeholders.

Participate in code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD processes, and Agile ceremonies.

Monitor and improve system performance through debugging and optimization efforts.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

4+ years of professional software development experience with strong hands-on expertise in Python.

Experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs and backend services using FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar frameworks.

Strong understanding of API architecture, authentication, authorization, and data validation principles.

Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.

Proficiency with Git, automated testing, debugging, and performance tuning.

Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-native application development.

Familiarity with Angular, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD pipelines.

Knowledge of asynchronous programming and event-driven architectures.

Experience supporting and maintaining production applications in enterprise environments.
