Job Description:
We are looking for an experienced Lead Backend Developer to design, build, and scale high-performance backend systems. The ideal candidate has strong expertise in TypeScript, AWS Cloud, Microservices Architecture, PostgreSQL, NoSQL databases, and System Design. You will lead backend engineering initiatives, mentor developers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and secure applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of scalable backend applications using Node.js and TypeScript.
- Design robust microservices architectures and RESTful APIs.
- Build cloud-native applications on AWS.
- Design and optimize relational and NoSQL database solutions.
- Drive architecture discussions and make system design decisions.
- Improve application performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Ensure high code quality through code reviews and engineering best practices.
- Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
- Collaborate with Product, Frontend, DevOps, and QA teams.
- Mentor backend engineers and promote engineering excellence.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement long-term solutions.
- Ensure security, monitoring, logging, and observability across services.
Required Skills
Backend
- Expert in TypeScript
- REST APIs
- GraphQL (preferred)
- Authentication (JWT, OAuth)
Cloud & DevOps
- AWS (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, CloudWatch, IAM)
- Docker
- Kubernetes
- Terraform or CloudFormation
- CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- 8 12+ years of backend development experience.
- 3+ years leading engineering teams or technical initiatives.
- Strong experience building enterprise-scale distributed systems.
- Excellent understanding of system design and software architecture.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Serverless Architecture.
- Experience with Event Sourcing and CQRS.
- Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD).
- Experience in FinTech, SaaS, or high-scale consumer platforms.
- AWS Certification is a plus.
Bachelor of Computer Science or Equivalent
