We are looking for two skilled and motivated Java Backend Developers to join our client's development team. The successful candidates will be responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining robust, scalable and secure backend applications and services.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop and maintain backend applications using Java.
Develop and maintain APIs and web services.
Work with databases and ensure efficient data storage and retrieval.
Participate in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
Collaborate with Frontend Developers, Business Analysts, Test Analysts and other technical teams.
Analyse technical requirements and translate them into effective backend solutions.
Write clean, efficient, maintainable and well-documented code.
Perform unit testing and support integration and system testing.
Identify, troubleshoot and resolve software defects and performance issues.
Assist with system integrations and third-party applications.
Ensure applications meet security, performance and scalability requirements.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
Provide technical support and assistance during deployment and production issues where required.
Minimum Requirements
Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Development or a related field.
Proven experience in Java Backend Development.
Strong knowledge of Java and object-oriented programming principles.
Experience with frameworks such as Spring and/or Spring Boot.
Experience developing and consuming RESTful APIs and web services.
Knowledge of relational and/or non-relational databases.
Experience with SQL and database integration.
Understanding of software development methodologies and the SDLC.
Experience using version control tools such as Git.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Advantageous Skills
Experience with microservices architecture.
Knowledge of cloud platforms and container technologies.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of application security best practices.
Experience working in Agile development environments.
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about technology, take pride in delivering high-quality solutions, and are able to work both independently and as part of a dynamic development team.
A technologist with strong analytical, design and writing skills, responsible for translating complex business and technical concepts into clear specifications, design artefacts, process flows and implementation guidance.
Preferred background: Solution Analyst, Systems Analyst, Technical Business Analyst, Integration Analyst, Junior Solution Architect, API/Product Analyst, or Technology Consultant with strong documentation capabilities. AWS
Technology stack – Java, AWS, IBM MQ / MQ Series / WebSphere MQ, Swift. PEM: payment gateways – incoming/outgoing – international payments – preferably experience in financial institutions – inbound and outbound forex payments departments
PCE: biometric systems experience would be excellent to have
The contract terms are 6 to 18 months – the PEM’s positions are 18 months.
Placements take 3 to 4 months and include the rigorous security clearance – loads of documents to complete
