Senior Backend Engineer (Java)
In this role, you will play a key part in building and maintaining scalable, high‑performance services. Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing robust back‑end systems, optimizing performance, and ensuring the reliability of our distributed services. Additionally, you will contribute to the development of our microservices architecture, event‑driven systems, and cloud‑native infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize backend services: build scalable, high-performance applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Micronaut.
- Microservices architecture: design, implement, and maintain distributed systems in a Kubernetes-based environment.
- Event-driven workflows: work with asynchronous architectures using Temporal and ActiveMQ.
- API development: build and refine RESTful APIs, integrating front-end services and third-party providers.
- Data management: enhance processing and storage solutions using PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Performance & security: proactively identify areas for improvement to ensure scalability, stability, and security.
- Automation & CI/CD: maintain best practices for software delivery using Jenkins and Git.
- Code reviews & mentorship: collaborate with peers to maintain high coding standards and support junior engineers.
- Cloud infrastructure: work alongside DevOps and SRE teams to optimize AWS-based deployments.
- Innovation & research: stay updated with emerging technologies and contribute to our technical roadmap.
Skills & Experience We Value
- Excellent written and verbal English proficiency.
- Extensive back-end experience: 8+ years in software development.
- Strong technical expertise: deep knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
- Industry experience: FinTech or SaaS environments.
- Distributed systems: deep understanding of best practices for microservices and cloud-based applications.
- Database proficiency: expertise in PostgreSQL and Redis.
- Cloud & containerization: hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- CI/CD & DevOps practices: familiarity with Jenkins, Git, and agile methodologies.
