We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Engineer to join our team in Madrid. The role focuses on designing, developing, and deploying scalable backend systems in a modern microservices environment. You will be working in a hybrid model, 3 days a week on client sites in the Sol area, next to the underground. Fluency in English (B2+ / C1) is required.

- Work together in a cross‑functional team using agile methodologies as part of a DevOps‑centric model.
- Design, implement, deploy, release, and monitor applications, participating in pull‑request reviews.
- Understand business needs by collaborating with stakeholders across different divisions.
- Participate in planning and feature refinement sessions with your team.
- Collaborate with Solution Architects to design solutions aligned with overall architecture standards.
- Actively contribute to engineering communities, sharing knowledge and best practices.
- Deliver high‑quality code aligned with company guidelines and standards.
- Minimum 4+ years of backend development experience.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Solid background in event‑driven architecture using Kafka (with Avro).
- Experience working with microservices architectures.
- Hands‑on experience with Kubernetes and Docker deployments.
- Proven experience applying TDD / BDD methodologies.
- Experience in DevOps environments, including production support and incident management (log debugging, monitoring, etc.).
- Experience supporting and maintaining legacy applications.
- Experience with Helm.
- Knowledge of OpenAPI specifications.
- Experience with SQL (Oracle).
