About The Role
A large-scale Australian enterprise delivering digital consumer services to millions of customers is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join its growing technology division.
What will you be doing?
- Design, develop and maintain scalable RESTful and GraphQL APIs using Python, Go and Node.js
- Build secure-by-design software solutions with strong authentication, authorisation and data protection controls
- Design and implement loosely-coupled microservices with scalability and operational excellence in mind
- Lead API design governance, including versioning, OpenAPI/Swagger standards and platform integration
- Deploy and operate cloud-native services across modern environments including Google Cloud Platform
- Integrate internal platforms and third-party systems using event-driven architectures and API frameworks
What are we looking for?
- Strong demonstrated experience in backend software engineering (7+ years)
- Strong experience in Python and Node.js (TypeScript)
- Proven experience delivering production-grade APIs and microservices at scale
- Strong experience with GCP, including Cloud Run, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, Pub/Sub, Cloud Tasks, and Cloud Scheduler
- Strong understanding of SQL and NoSQL databases, caching solutions and distributed systems
- Experience with API gateway technologies and enterprise integration patterns
- Solid knowledge of software security principles including authentication, encryption and OWASP
- Experience in Golang is a big plus!
