About the Role
We are looking for a highly experienced Senior Backend Java Developer with strong expertise in building scalable, cloud-native enterprise applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about hands-on engineering, modern backend architectures, distributed systems, and solving complex technical challenges.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys coding, contributing to architectural discussions, and has the ambition to grow into a Solution Architect role over time.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend applications using Java and Spring Boot .
- Build and enhance scalable microservices-based architectures .
- Develop event-driven and asynchronous systems using Kafka .
- Work closely with cloud-native deployments and AWS services .
- Design robust APIs and backend integrations for enterprise-grade applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend developers, DevOps engineers, architects, QA, and business stakeholders.
- Participate in system design discussions, technical planning, and solution reviews.
- Ensure application performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, and deployment automation.
- Take ownership of technical delivery while remaining deeply hands-on.
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–10 years of strong backend development experience using Java.
- Excellent experience with Spring Boot and Microservices architecture.
- Strong hands-on experience with Apache Kafka.
- Good experience working with AWS cloud services.
- Strong understanding of containerisation using Docker.
- Experience with Kubernetes orchestration and deployment.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and scalable application design.
- Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Strong debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder interaction skills.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced enterprise environments.
Preferred Experience
- Exposure (not mandatory) to large-scale enterprise or financial services environments.
- Experience with event-driven architecture patterns.
- Exposure to observability and monitoring tools.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments.
