Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 days onsite)
Contract: 6 months (Potential Extension)
We're seeking a Senior Backend Java Developer with 10+ years of experience to support the expansion of a large-scale Open Banking platform for a leading financial institution.
This opportunity is ideal for an experienced backend engineer who thrives in cloud-native environments and enjoys driving technical excellence, mentoring team members, and building secure, scalable solutions.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of hands‑on Java development experience, including Spring Boot
- Strong expertise with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Redis
- Experience deploying and managing containerized applications on GCP using Kubernetes
- CI/CD pipeline implementation and automation experience
- REST API design and development expertise
- Strong understanding of object‑oriented and functional programming principles
- Experience with security scanning, vulnerability remediation, and secure coding practices
- Ability to provide technical leadership, code reviews, and mentorship
Nice to Have
- React.js and Node.js experience
- OAuth2 and SSO implementation experience
