Job Description As a Backend Software Engineer at Nexthink, you will join a highly autonomous and experienced team integral to the core functionality of the Nexthink product. The team owns the data pipelines that collect data from over 25 million Endpoints, integrating and enriching massive volumes of Endpoint data and transforming it into actionable insights. You will work closely with Endpoint engineers to build data collection features end-to-end. You will have full, end-to-end ownership of the components you build—from requirements and design through implementation, validation, and deployment. We embrace a DevOps and CI/CD culture focused on automation, code quality, and maintainability, working together to build a world-class cloud platform with modern practices. You will partner closely with the Product team to deliver, and we place a high value on agency and strong ownership. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in software engineering, ideally on backend or data-intensive systems Strong Java skills and a deep understanding of the JVM (Java 17 and 21) Solid grasp of concurrency — multithreading, thread-safety, and concurrent data structures for high-throughput systems Experience building microservices with Spring Boot or Micronaut Experience with event-driven architectures and distributed systems Strong SQL and hands-on experience with high-volume relational databases or data warehouses (e.g., Postgres) Solid experience with Apache Kafka and Kafka Streams (stateless and stateful topologies) for building high-throughput data pipelines Hands‑on experience running services on AWS, including monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices Strong automated testing practices (unit and integration) and a focus on code quality Experience with agentic AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor Fluent in English (spoken and written) Desirable Pluses Experience with DevOps, GitOps, and infrastructure as code (e.g., FluxCD / Helm / Kustomize) High-performance analytical databases like ClickHouse Observability and monitoring tools such as DataDog or Prometheus/Grafana Benefits Permanent contract and a competitive compensation package Health insurance through our partnership with ACKO, including OPD coverage for dental, vision, health check‑ups, consultations, and pharmacy expenses Hybrid work model balancing office and remote work, with a structured approach for new hires to foster connections and onboarding Flexible hours and unlimited vacation (employees have unlimited paid time off on top of the 22 days of holidays we offer).
