What you will bring to the team.
Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions is seeking a self-directed Sr. software engineer with previous experience in software development, to join our team in Guadalajara, Mexico. The Sr. Software Engineer designs, builds, and supports custom software solutions for some of the world's largest retailers.
What you will be doing :
Your typical day as a Sr. Bash - PowerBasic Developer will involve:
- Developing new custom function and assisting with defect fixing
- Extending the automation / continuous integration platform, including tests
- Working closely with the QA team to ensure a quality deliverable
- Creating product user's documentation
- Providing configuration, installation, and ongoing maintenance support
- Linux and Windows scripting.
Naturally to be successful in this role, you must have and know of :
- Good English written and verbal communication.
- 6 years hands-on experience working in any UNIX/Linux environment (70%) and Windows environment as well (30%).
- Advanced knowledge and experience with scripting languages such as: Bash/Shell, PowerBasic, PowerShell or Python to automate tasks.
- Familiarity with the software engineering lifecycle and methodologies.
Nice to have :
- Linux: Kernel, Advanced Bash, Boot sequence.
- TrueNas/FreeBSD administration.
- Familiarity with software design patterns.
