A minimum of 3 days a week within a small disability services provider in the Western Suburbs of Sydney. For a Behavior Support Practitioner interested in working with all ages of clients, developmental disabilities and mental health conditions to improve their quality of life and overall well-being.
- Requires a current NDIS registration as a Behaviour Support Practitioner.
- Salary Guide : $40 to $45 per hour
- Based in the Western Suburbs of Sydney
Your normal day includes such tasks as
- Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence based positive behavior support plans (BSPs) that provide strategies for preventing challenging behaviors and promoting positive alternatives.
- Implementing behavior support plans and interventions, which may include teaching coping skills, communication strategies, and replacement behaviors.
- Conducting a variety of assessments for participants of ages up to 65 years and all disabilities
- Developing, delivering and monitoring interventions and strategies for behavior management
- Working collaboratively with others in the team
- Deliver office related duties in addition to home visits
- Conducting thorough assessments to understand the causes and triggers of challenging behaviors. This often involves functional behavior assessments (FBA) to identify the underlying factors.
- Applying principles of behavior analysis to analyze the antecedents (what triggers the behavior), the behavior itself, and the consequences of the behavior.
- Providing training to individuals, families, and support staff on how to implement behavior support plans and interventions effectively.
- Maintaining accurate and detailed records of assessments, interventions, and progress

You will need
- A NDIS registration number as a Behaviour Support practitioner.
- Current Working with Children check
- National Police Check
- NDIS Workers clearance or willingness to get one
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work or relevant qualifications or experience
- Drivers license and willingness to travel
- Current First Aid certificate
