Position Overview Lead Behavior Technician

We are seeking an experienced, compassionate, and motivated Lead Behavior Technician to help lead our GAP (Growing Adult Potential) program while empowering young adults with autism to achieve greater independence and success.
As the Lead Behavior Technician, you will serve as both a mentor and a direct support professional, providing guidance to Behavior Technicians while ensuring the consistent implementation of high-quality, person-centered services. Working closely with program director and multidisciplinary teams, you will oversee the delivery of Individualized Support Plans (ISPs) and Behavior Support Plans (BSPs), model evidence-based interventions, and help create an environment where participants can thrive.
This is a dynamic leadership role that combines hands-on support with coaching, problem-solving, and program coordination. You will assist in training staff, monitor service quality, provide behavioral guidance, and ensure participants receive consistent support across center-based, community, and vocational settings. Whether you're helping a participant master a new life skill, supporting a successful community outing, or mentoring team members to provide exceptional care, your leadership will have a lasting impact on both participants and staff.

Physical Demands and Safety Requirements:
This position involves active engagement and a strong commitment to maintaining a safe environment for all clients. As an essential function of the position, candidates must be able to ensure the safety and protection of individuals at all times and have the ability to talk, hear, sit, stand, walk, bend, squat, and move quickly, including running when necessary. The role requires engaging in physical activity to support, guide, and redirect clients as needed. Candidates must also be able to lift or assist clients, when necessary, as well as provide toileting assistance, including support with bathroom routines, diapering, clothing changes, and hygiene maintenance. Maintaining alertness and responsiveness to ensure client safety across various settings is essential.
Work Environment and Transportation Requirements:
A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required, as travel between multiple service locations may be necessary. Duties may be performed in school settings, community environments, or AccessPoint buildings.
