Job Description – Big Commerce Developer / Big Commerce Engineer Job Title: Big Commerce Developer / Big Commerce Consultant Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Big Commerce Developer to design, develop, customize, and support scalable e Commerce solutions on the Big Commerce platform. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Big Commerce storefront development, API integrations, checkout customization, and end-to-end e Commerce implementation. The candidate should be comfortable working with cross-functional teams including UI/UX, product owners, QA, and backend engineering teams in Agile environments. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, and maintain Big Commerce storefronts and custom themes Customize Big Commerce Stencil themes and optimize frontend performance Develop and integrate APIs, third-party applications, and payment gateways Implement custom checkout, cart, catalog, and product functionalities Work on Big Commerce headless commerce architecture when required Integrate Big Commerce with ERP, CRM, OMS, PIM, and marketing platforms Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, bugs, and performance bottlenecks Optimize website performance, SEO, responsiveness, and user experience Collaborate with UI/UX designers and backend developers for feature implementation Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, code reviews, and release activities Ensure security, scalability, and maintainability of e Commerce solutions Support migration activities from legacy e Commerce platforms to Big Commerce Required Skills: 3+ years of experience working with Big Commerce platform Strong expertise in Big Commerce Stencil framework Experience with Big Commerce APIs and webhooks Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Java Script, Type Script Experience with React.js, Next.js, or headless commerce architecture Hands-on experience with REST APIs and JSON Experience integrating payment gateways, shipping providers, and tax solutions Knowledge of Graph QL APIs is preferred Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills Preferred Skills: Experience with headless Big Commerce implementations Experience with ERP/CRM integrations (SAP, Salesforce, Net Suite, etc.) Knowledge of SEO and e Commerce best practices Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure Familiarity with GA4, GTM, or analytics integrations Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Big Commerce certifications preferred Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Nice to Have: Experience with Shopify, Magento, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud Experience in retail, e Commerce, or digital commerce domains Experience with performance optimization and scalability initiatives
