Job Description:
Expertise in Production-proven command of Roku SceneGraph, thread isolation on constrained hardware platforms (e.g., 512MB/A53-class), and contract-driven architecture.
Demonstrable evidence of architecting a streaming application of equivalent complexity.
At least one successfully shipped Roku application currently in the field that passed full Roku Channel Certification.
Strong capability integrating third-party SDKs for advertising frameworks (RAF), advanced metrics, and content delivery network optimization.
Ability to define and drive specification-driven development utilizing AI tools is highly preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain active, daily collaboration overlap with the engineering pod across critical sprint cycles. Commit to flexible hours as necessary to bridge time zones and prevent delivery roadblocks.
Review feature module implementations and enforce structural rules regarding SceneGraph performance, memory safety, and field-change contracts. Share joint milestone sign-off authority with internal SMEs.
Lead pre-certification technical assessments evaluating platform-specific nuances including deep-link handling, exit behavior, screensaver compliance, accessibility implementation, and instrumentation completeness.
Author comprehensive troubleshooting playbooks and maintain a reference code repository with annotated examples using BrightScript/observability tools for rapid root-cause identification. Integrate review checklists into the CI/CD pull request pipeline.
Seamlessly align with EchoStar's bi-weekly Sprint cadence, weekly release cadence, and product roadmap touchpoints.
