About the Role :
Key Responsibilities :
- Build responsive web frontends using ASP.NET Core MVC or other modern.NET-based web frameworks.
- Architect and optimize database structures, indexes, functions, stored procedures and queries using Microsoft SQL Server.
- Integrate with external APIs (REST, SOAP) and build automation services for event handling, notifications, data ingestion, and more.
- Reference existing Delphi code as needed to understand current workflows and guide development of modern replacements.
- Participate in technical planning, code reviews, and remote team collaboration using Git and a structured development workflow.
- Own the full delivery of agreed-upon milestones: define your preferred workflow, tools, and daily schedule to meet functional and quality targets.
- Provide and maintain your own development environment (PC, IDE, Internet) and bear any operating costs associated with delivering the work.
Required Qualifications :
- Deep knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server: schema design, stored procedures, functions, indexes, performance tuning, and complex queries.
- Hands-on experience with WinUI 3, or strong experience in WPF/UWP and a willingness to work with WinUI going forward.
- Proficiency with ASP.NET Core MVC, Razor Pages, or Blazor for web development.
- Solid understanding of object-oriented design, async programming, and dependency injection.
- Proficiency in JavaScript and jQuery for dynamic front-end functionality in ASP.NET MVC/Razor environments.
- Familiarity with background jobs, webhooks, and RESTful service integration.
- Familiarity with background services, event processing, and real-time systems.
- All project documentation must be exclusively in English. Proficiency in written English is therefore an essential function of this engagement.
- Meetings and code reviews can be conducted in Portuguese, so proficiency in spoken English is not mandatory but good to have.
- Legally able to invoice as a Brazilian corporate entity and to remit all applicable taxes independently.
- Proven track record as an independent contractor or consultant, managing deadlines without direct supervision.
- Reliable computer hardware and high-speed Internet suitable for remote development and video calls.
Nice to Have :
- Exposure to Delphi codebases.
- Background in telecom, call center systems, cloud PBX systems, or CRM platforms.
- Familiarity with Win32 interop, Chromium integration, or low-level Windows automation.
- Familiarity with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Vue, or Blazor.
- Experience juggling multiple client projects or running a small software business.
