The Camera Systems team at Qualcomm Korea is seeking an ISP Algorithm Engineer to develop next-generation Automotive ISP algorithms for advanced automotive camera systems. This role focuses on delivering high-quality, robust, and reliable image processing solutions that meet the stringent requirements of automotive applications, including safety, robustness, and real-time performance.

Job Description

We are seeking a passionate and experienced ISP Algorithm Designer to join the Camera Systems team at Qualcomm. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and validating automotive ISP algorithms as part of the Gen6 ISP pipeline. This role requires strong expertise in image processing algorithms, hands-on development experience, and the ability to collaborate closely with system, hardware, and cross-functional teams to bring algorithms into production-quality automotive solutions.

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Design, implement, and optimize automotive ISP algorithms for Gen6 platforms, targeting camera systems used in ADAS and automotive vision applications
  • Develop and improve image processing algorithms in areas such as:
    • Noise reduction, detail enhancement, and color processing
    • HDR imaging, local tone mapping, and low-light imaging
    • Robust image quality optimization under challenging automotive conditions
  • Prototype, evaluate, and validate algorithms on embedded and automotive ISP platforms
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including camera system, hardware, software, and validation teams to integrate ISP algorithms into production
  • Balance image quality, latency, power, and hardware efficiency while meeting automotive reliability and robustness requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of industry experience in image processing or ISP algorithm development

  • Strong background in image processing fundamentals (signal processing, image/color processing)

  • Hands-on programming experience in C/C++ , Python

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills

  • Ability to work independently on complex technical problems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with camera technology and ISP (Image Signal Processor) pipeline design
  • Experience with different types of sensors and algorithms for sensor and optics processing
  • Experience with mobile / automotive imaging related development and technology

Educational Requirements

Required: Master's, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

Preferred: Doctorate, Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Systems Engineering or related work experience.
OR
PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.
