About the Role
Immediate starts are available for experienced Class 2 Drivers looking for ongoing day work across Cheadle and Stockport. This is an excellent opportunity to secure regular work with reputable transport and construction businesses, offering competitive rates of pay, weekly pay and a variety of driving assignments.
As a Class 2 Driver, you'll operate both curtain-sided and flatbed vehicles, completing deliveries to commercial customers throughout the region. The role offers varied work transporting palletised goods, building materials, timber, steel, concrete products and other industrial materials.
This is a Job & Finish position with early morning starts from 6:00am, making it ideal for drivers who enjoy getting an early start and finishing once deliveries are complete.
Key Responsibilities
As a Class 2 Driver, your duties will include:
* Driving Class 2 (Category C) curtain-sided and flatbed vehicles.
* Delivering palletised goods, building materials, timber, steel, concrete products and other industrial materials.
* Completing customer deliveries and collections safely and efficiently.
* Securing loads using ratchet straps and other load restraint equipment where required.
* Opening and closing curtain-sided vehicles.
* Carrying out daily vehicle safety checks before and after each shift.
* Completing delivery paperwork accurately.
* Providing professional customer service at delivery locations.
* Communicating with transport teams regarding deliveries where required.
* Working in compliance with Driver Hours, the Working Time Directive and all road transport regulations.
Requirements
We're looking for reliable and professional Class 2 Drivers who take pride in delivering excellent customer service, work safely at all times and understand the importance of transport compliance.
To be considered, you'll need:
A valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence held for a minimum of 1–2 years.
At least 1 year's Class 2 driving experience.
Experience driving curtain-sided and flatbed vehicles (preferred).
Confidence using ratchet straps and securing loads safely.
A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
A valid Digital Tachograph Card.
No more than 6 penalty points.
No endorsements resulting in a driving ban or disqualification.
A good understanding of Driver Hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
A reliable, flexible and safety-conscious approach to work.
