Our client is seeking an experienced Cloud Application Developer to support the modernization and enhancement of large-scale transactional systems within an enterprise environment. This role will focus on developing highly reliable, event-driven microservices, supporting cloud migration initiatives, and contributing to the modernization of legacy applications. The ideal candidate will possess deep experience with transactional systems, Java development, AWS technologies, and distributed architectures. This position is W-2 only. We do not work with third-party firms or C2C arrangements for this role.
Core Responsibilities- Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable microservices supporting large-scale transactional systems
- Participate in modernization initiatives, including the migration of legacy applications to cloud-based architectures
- Develop and maintain Java-based applications leveraging AWS services and event-driven technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze business requirements and implement technical solutions
- Support the migration of legacy platforms and applications while ensuring system reliability and performance
- Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement sustainable solutions in high-availability environments
- Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design decisions
- Monitor application performance and recommend enhancements to improve scalability and operational efficiency
- 7+ years of software development experience
- Strong proficiency in Java development
- Strong experience with AWS cloud services
- Experience designing and supporting transactional systems and transactional microservices
- Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka
- Experience with Amazon SQS
- Experience with AWS EventBridge
- Experience supporting large-scale customer-facing platforms
- Experience with event-driven architecture patterns
- Experience working within outage management, telecommunications, utility, or other mission-critical operational systems
- Knowledge of application modernization strategies and cloud transformation initiatives
Location: St. Louis, MO; Charlotte, NC; or Coppell, TX
Hybrid schedule4 days onsite, 1 day remote

Compensation & BenefitsPay Range: The approximate pay range for this position is between $101,500.00 and $145,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and location. We comply with local wage minimums.
