Cloud DevOps Engineer role focused on designing, deploying, and managing scalable and secure AWS cloud solutions. Responsibilities include AWS infrastructure management, Kubernetes (EKS) operations, Linux administration, CI/CD pipeline implementation, and DevOps integration for cloud-native applications. The role also involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, ensuring cloud security and governance, and supporting containerized application environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist application teams in deploying solutions on AWS cloud platforms
  • Design and maintain secure, scalable AWS infrastructure
  • Ensure cloud governance, compliance, and security best practices
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (network, DB, security)
  • Participate in architecture discussions, solution design, and POCs
  • Prepare technical documentation and presentations

Linux Hosting & Administration

  • Deploy and manage Linux-based EC2 instances
  • Configure and maintain web servers (Apache/Nginx), databases, and services
  • Automate patching using AWS Systems Manager (SSM)
  • Monitor system performance using CloudWatch Agent
  • Troubleshoot and perform root cause analysis for system issues

Kubernetes Operations (AWS)

  • Deploy and manage containerized applications using Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service)
  • Create and manage Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts
  • Implement auto-scaling using HPA & Cluster Autoscaler
  • Monitor cluster performance using CloudWatch Container Insights / Prometheus

DevOps Integration

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using: AWS CodePipeline, CodeBuild, CodeDeploy Or Jenkins / GitHub Actions
  • Implement containerization using Docker and orchestration with EKS
  • Manage artifacts using Amazon ECR

Application Support

  • Provide L1/L2 support for applications running in containerized environments
  • Collaborate with development teams for issue resolution in staging/production

AWS Infrastructure Management

  • Deploy and manage: EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC, EKS
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code using: AWS CloudFormation / Terraform
  • Manage storage and backup using: S3 lifecycle policies, AWS Backup

Monitoring & Logging (AWS + Open Source)

  • AWS Native:
  • CloudWatch (metrics, logs, alarms)
  • CloudTrail (audit logging)
  • Open Source (any of the following):
  • ELK Stack (Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana)
  • Grafana + Prometheus
  • Loki for log aggregation
  • Experience with Amazon Managed Prometheus / Managed Grafana

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of AWS cloud architecture and deployment models
  • Experience with AWS networking & security services: Elastic Load Balancer (ELB), AWS WAF, AWS Shield
  • VPC, Subnets, Route Tables, Security Groups, NACLs
  • Expertise in Identity & Access Management (IAM)
  • Integration with Active Directory (AWS Managed AD / AD Connector)
  • Good knowledge of Linux and Windows systems on AWS EC2
  • Experience with databases: AWS RDS, DynamoDB, Aurora
  • Experience in monitoring & governance: AWS CloudWatch, CloudTrail, AWS Config
  • Hands-on experience with: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation) and DevOps and microservices architecture
  • AWS Certification preferred: AWS Certified Solutions Architect / SysOps Administrator
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
