This role focuses on implementing modern DevOps methodologies, building robust CI/CD pipelines, and enabling development teams to deliver high-quality software at scale through cloud-native solutions and automation.Core ResponsibilitiesCloud DevOps & Development AutomationDesign and implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Crossplane and Terraform for cloud-native, API-driven deploymentsBuild, optimize, and maintain sophisticated CI/CD pipelines for rapid, reliable software deliveryDevelop and enforce DevOps best practices including automated testing, code quality gates, and deployment strategiesImplement GitOps workflows and configuration management for streamlined development processesKubernetes & Container OrchestrationArchitect, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters across AWS cloud environmentsDesign container strategies, image management, and orchestration patterns for microservices architecturesImplement service mesh technologies and container security best practicesOptimize cluster performance, resource allocation, and auto-scaling capabilitiesDevelopment Platform EngineeringBuild and maintain developer tooling, platforms, and self-service capabilitiesCreate automated workflows for application deployment, testing, and monitoringImplement observability solutions using Prometheus and GrafanaDesign and maintain development environment provisioning and management systemsData Pipeline & Streaming OperationsDevelop and optimize streaming data pipelines using Kafka and related technologiesImplement data processing workflows and ETL automationOptimize database operations for both relational and NoSQL systems (PostgreSQL, DynamoDB)DevOps Culture & CollaborationChampion DevOps culture and practices across development teamsFacilitate clear, constructive communication within engineering teams to align on technical decisions and resolve conflicts efficientlyMentor developers on cloud-native development patterns and deployment strategiesLead cross-functional initiatives to improve development velocity and code qualityDrive adoption of emerging DevOps tools, practices, and methodologiesRequired QualificationsTechnical ExpertiseCloud Platforms: 7+ years developing and deploying applications on AWS (primary focus)Container Orchestration: 5+ years managing Kubernetes in large-scale production environmentsInfrastructure as Code: 3+ years with Crossplane, Kubernetes operators, or cloud-native IaC toolsCI/CD: 5+ years building and maintaining continuous integration/deployment pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions)DevOps & Development ToolsMonitoring & Observability: Proficiency with Prometheus, Grafana, distributed tracing, and logging solutionsDevelopment Platforms: Experience with GitOps workflows, automated testing frameworks, and code quality toolsCloud-Native Technologies: Service mesh, API gateways, serverless computing, and microservices patternsProfessional ExperienceIndustry Experience: 10+ years in DevOps, cloud development, or platform engineering rolesDevelopment Focus: Proven track record enabling development teams through automation and toolingHigh-Velocity Development: Experience with rapid release cycles, feature flags, and continuous deployment practicesEssential CapabilitiesDevOps Leadership: Extensive background in cloud-native development and modern DevOps practicesDevelopment Enablement: Strong focus on developer experience, productivity, and self-service capabilitiesAbility to translate business requirements into automated development workflowsExperience building platforms that accelerate software delivery and improve code qualityCloud-Native Expertise: Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerizationExperience with modern deployment patterns including blue-green, canary, and rolling deploymentsCommitment to automation-first approaches and infrastructure-as-code principlesPreferred QualificationsExperience with additional cloud platforms (GCP, Azure) and hybrid cloud architecturesBackground in Computer & Network Security, Computer Networking, or TelecommunicationsCertifications: CKA, CKAD, AWS Cloud Practitioner, AWS Solutions ArchitectExperience mentoring junior engineers and leading technical initiativesMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.Applicants: Qualcomm is an equal opportunity employer.
