Overview
Make an impact with NTT DATA. The AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing cloud-native infrastructure and DevOps practices to enable scalable, secure, and high-performing applications on AWS. This role accelerates software delivery, improves system reliability, and drives automation across the development lifecycle. Works closely with engineering, architecture, and platform teams to ensure cloud environments are resilient, cost-efficient, and aligned to best practices.
Responsibilities
- Cloud Infrastructure & Platform Engineering: Design, build, and maintain scalable, highly available, and secure AWS cloud environments.
- Implement infrastructure as code (IaC) using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or CDK.
- Manage core AWS services including EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/EKS, VPC, IAM, and CloudFront.
- DevOps & Automation: Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using tools such as AWS CodePipeline, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI. Automate infrastructure provisioning, application deployment, and configuration management. Promote DevOps best practices including continuous integration, continuous delivery, and continuous testing.
- Cloud Operations & Reliability: Monitor system performance using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog. Implement logging, tracing, and alerting to ensure system reliability and rapid incident response. Support incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement of system resilience.
- Security & Compliance: Implement cloud security best practices including IAM, encryption, and network security. Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards through automation and policy enforcement. Embed security into the DevOps lifecycle (DevSecOps).
- Collaboration & Delivery: Work with software engineers, architects, and product teams to support application delivery. Participate in agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog prioritization and sprint delivery. Provide technical guidance on cloud-native architectures and DevOps practices.
- Continuous Improvement & Innovation: Stay current with evolving AWS services and DevOps tooling. Identify opportunities to improve deployment speed, reliability, and developer experience. Contribute to reusable frameworks, templates, and internal best practices.
Capabilities & Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and architecture patterns.
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, CDK).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and release management.
- Solid understanding of containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS/EKS).
- Experience with scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, or similar).
- Knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability practices.
- Understanding of cloud security, networking, and compliance.
- Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex distributed systems.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- AWS certifications highly desirable, such as: AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional; AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional; Additional certifications in Kubernetes (CKA/CKAD) or DevOps tools advantageous.
