Senior Member of Technical Staff - Identity and Access Management (IAM) TeamCloud Infrastructure Group (Seattle, WA)
The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team provides an opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive‑scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi‑tenant cloud environment. OCI is committed to delivering cloud products that meet the needs of customers tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges.
What is IAM at OCI?Identity and Access Management (IAM) allows users to control who has access to their cloud resources. As part of the Cloud Platform organization, the team is responsible for the design and build of core services utilized by both internal and external customers.
The Identity Control Plane team primarily services CRUD API calls on all identity‑related entities—users, groups, policies, and compartments—across all regions while ensuring consistency and reliability.
Who are we looking for?Engineers with distributed systems experience, and a proven track record of designing major features and launching them into production. Experience operating high‑scale services and making them more resilient, with the ability to work on most projects and tasks independently.
The person in this role will get a lot done daily, drive tactical execution of features and projects, and own feature design.
What are the biggest challenges for the team?Reliability and performance are primary challenges. Business growth requires systems that scale out and handle traffic patterns several orders of magnitude greater than current support. The team must make tradeoffs, communicate decisions effectively, and execute crisply.
We need engineers who can build services that handle millions of requests per second, survive regional data center outages, protect customers, and enable new options for clients, contributing to Oracle Cloud’s overall growth.
