Job Description
The ideal candidate analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains software for the organization’s platform infrastructure, performing system integration to ensure high throughput, security, and absolute reliability. In this role, you will focus on building robust Kubernetes platforms across multi-cloud systems and driving their entire Lifecycle Management (LCM), including self-hosted and managed cluster environments. You are expected to act as a key engineering partner for application teams, understanding their specific Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure requirements, integrating those needs back into our core platforms, and maintaining effective monitoring stacks to ensure full platform visibility. By defining clear SLAs, tracking SLOs, and relentlessly automating infrastructure provisioning, LCM operations, and platform enhancements using modern tools, you will scale these environments efficiently. You will own the end-to-end delivery of these systems, from testing structures and maintaining user documentation to ensuring mission-critical reliability.
Basic Requirements
Responsibilities will include:
Provision, manage, and drive the full Lifecycle Management (LCM) of Kubernetes clusters across multi-cloud environments, spanning both cloud-managed clusters and self-hosted cluster deployments.
Network, cloud, and security design and implementation of core services used by our Public Safety cloud solutions.
Support cloud platform operations and sovereign operations including issue troubleshooting and resolution.
Define and meet scalability, availability, security, and performance goals.
Rapidly build and evolve major features in collaboration with product management.
Utilize Helm charts extensively to deploy, update, and manage core application manifest components across clusters.
Write robust automation scripts using Python and Bash to eliminate operational friction and automate infrastructure tasks.
Build, maintain, and optimize secure CI/CD pipelines for application and configuration delivery.
Research and experiment with key technologies, architectures, and standards to keep the platform modern and efficient.
Integrate fundamental Agentic AI concepts into the operational landscape to explore intelligent infrastructure monitoring and automation.
Leverage AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate day-to-day scripting, manifest authorship, and pipeline building.
Attend daily stand-up meetings, collaborate with peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to customers.
Assist in reviews and audits conducted at various points in the software life cycle.
Qualifications (Must-Have):
Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 3+ years of combined experience in Network Engineering, Security, or Cloud/DevOps Engineering.
Experience with web infrastructure and distributed systems; strong knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Strong experience with Kubernetes, including cloud service provider managed clusters (EKS/AKS/GKE) and self-hosted cluster environments.
Deep familiarity with Helm for packaging, configuration, and manifest deployment.
Fundamental knowledge of Python and Bash, with the ability to build reliable operational automation scripts.
Foundational understanding of Agentic AI concepts (basic component orchestration, LLM tool use primitives, and architecture structures).
High proficiency in utilizing AI coding assistance tools (GitHub Copilot, Windsurf, Cursor, or Claude) to enhance coding speed and accuracy.
Hands-on experience with version control and platform management via GitHub or Azure DevOps.
Experience in configuring modern CI/CD pipelines.
Previous experience dealing with L3/L4 networking components like load balancers and firewalls.
Experience implementing and configuring cloud monitoring tools.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving, growing, and agile environment.
