  • Program and optimize CNC machines for customer parts and applications
  • Develop complete machining processes including tooling, workholding, speeds and feeds, and cycle optimization
  • Support customer turnkeys, machine demonstrations, test cuts, prove-outs, and runoffs
  • Troubleshoot machining, programming, tooling, and process-related issues
  • Work directly with customers to understand part requirements and develop effective manufacturing solutions
  • Provide customer training on CNC machine operation, programming, and machining processes
  • Support machine installations and application start-ups as needed
  • Collaborate with Sales, Service, Automation, and Engineering teams on customer projects
  • Assist with pre-sales technical evaluations and application feasibility
  • Provide ongoing applications support to customers
  • Travel regionally to customer facilities as required

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on CNC machining, programming, manufacturing engineering, or Applications Engineering experience preferred
  • Strong experience in CNC milling, turning, mill-turn, and/or multi-axis machining
  • Ability to independently develop a machining process from print or model through completed part
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming, tooling, workholding, cutting parameters, and process optimization
  • Experience with machine prove-outs, new-part development, troubleshooting, or turnkey applications
  • Experience with FANUC controls highly preferred
  • Experience with CAM software such as Mastercam, Esprit, NX, or similar preferred
  • 5-axis machining experience is highly valued for milling-focused candidates
  • Strong technical problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Comfortable communicating directly with customers in a technical environment
  • Ability to travel regionally as required

Ideal Background

We're particularly interested in candidates currently working as:

CNC Applications Engineers, Application Engineers, CNC Programmers, Manufacturing Engineers, Process Engineers, Senior CNC Machinists, or similar machining professionals who have the technical depth and communication skills to succeed in a customer-facing Applications Engineering environment.

Previous experience with a machine tool builder, distributor, integrator, or CNC equipment manufacturer is highly desirable but not required.

Why Consider This Opportunity?

You'll have the opportunity to work on challenging applications across different industries, develop complete manufacturing processes, interact directly with customers, and collaborate with experienced Applications, Service, Sales, and Automation professionals.

The organization offers a competitive compensation package, hourly compensation with overtime eligibility, benefits, and opportunities for continued technical and professional growth.
