- Matric (Grade 12)
- Valid Code 10 Driver's Licence
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP)
- Minimum 5 years' professional driving experience
- Experience with dispatch and material handling
- Valid Hazchem Certificate advantageous but not essential
- Knowledge of batteries or similar products advantageous
- Good organisational and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail

Key Responsibilities
Vehicle Maintenance & Compliance
- Ensure vehicles comply with Hazchem and legal requirements
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and report any faults
- Keep vehicles clean, safe and roadworthy
- Report maintenance requirements and excessive fuel consumption
- Ensure vehicles are not overloaded
- Submit fuel and maintenance slips daily
Deliveries & Collections
- Deliver and collect goods safely, accurately and on time
- Follow approved delivery routes unless authorised otherwise
- Never leave loaded vehicles unattended
- Ensure all deliveries are accompanied by the correct documentation
- Check stock quantities against picking slips and invoices before departure
- Secure loads to prevent damage during transport
Documentation
- Obtain customer signatures and delivery confirmations on all documents
- Ensure all delivery paperwork is completed correctly and returned daily
- Record battery returns, credits and warranty claims in the appropriate logbooks
- Report any delivery discrepancies or issues to management promptly
Customer Service
- Represent the company in a professional manner
- Provide courteous and efficient service to customers
- Refer customer complaints or disputes to management
- Maintain a positive company image at all times
Health & Safety
- Comply with all road traffic, Hazchem and company safety requirements
- Wear the required PPE and company uniform
- Operate company vehicles responsibly and comply with all traffic laws
- Take responsibility for any traffic violations or fines incurred while driving
